Cherry Rakia is a traditional fruit brandy made from the pitted cherries of the Bing, Van, Cordi and Lambert varieties. When the stones are removed, the cherries lose their bitterness, so the cherries can develop their full sweetness and fruity aroma in fruit brandy. And that is really overwhelming: after three years of ripening in small oak barrels, the fruity taste of the cherries behaves with soft vanilla tones and a slightly smoky aroma, which is only felt in the finish.
The cherry rakia comes from the regions of Plovdiv and Isperih. With its 40% alcohol, the fruit brandy can be enjoyed slowly and in small quantities. Awarded a bronze medal and a silver medal in 2016.
